When we talk about Ledwall we are referring to a technology that at its core differs greatly depending on its use. Let’s look at the difference between a ledwall for fixed indoor installation (for businesses, shopping malls, conference rooms, or common spaces) and a ledwall for rental, typically for trade shows and events.
Different constructions
Ledwalls are designed according to their intended use. Those for fixed installation are built to withstand long and continuous power-on periods. They often have 24/7 certified components that allow them to remain on virtually all the time. In contrast, the mechanics are less robust than the rental ledwall, which must be assembled and disassembled frequently. There is also a difference in standard size. Led modules for fixed installation are often in 16:9 format, while Rental (rental) modules are 50×50 cm square to form screens of the most diverse sizes.
Different mounting
Most installation ledwalls, are designed to be wall mounted. This involves front mounting, that is, from the front side of the screen. In fact, the back of the cabinet is often closed and is screwed to the wall or a similar support stand. All wiring remains inside the cabinet and is done from the front. The same goes for the LED modules, which are magnetized and mounted last, closing the screen. Handles or suspension hooks are also absent.
Different is the construction of rental cabinets, which are mounted mainly from behind. Everything here is visible, inspectable and interchangeable at any time. When a Front Inspection Ledwall is requested, it is because the screen must be mounted near a back wall that prevents access from behind. In this case the modules are pulled out from the front with a magnet or pneumatic puller to change them or to access the cables and electronics, which are always behind.

Resolutions, durability, maintenance
Fixed installation LEDs can have pitches (pixel pitch) as fine as 1.8 or 1.5mm. Led with these steps are very delicate and could hardly sustain such heavy use as rental. Another important difference concerns the maintenance. Fixed installation LEDs require very little maintenance as they are not subject to physical stress. Once installed they have a lifespan of years, barring rare electronic problems. Rental Ledwalls, on the other hand, are continually subject to maintenance and inspections, both during installation and after use, once they are back in place. Therefore, virtually all components are easily interchangeable. The electronics and Led modules in particular can be disassembled and changed entirely at any time during installation.

Which one costs more?
Both on the unit level (price per square meter) and as an overall investment, Led for hire is significantly more expensive. Not only because of the inherent cost (cost per square meter), but also because, in rental, the wide variety of configurations required means high availability of homogeneous material. In addition, rental material is subject to a higher degree of wear and tear and, consequently, a shorter productive life. Led by installation is much less expensive both in terms of construction simplicity and as an overall investment, being well defined in quantity and projected over the long term.
